The crab’s remains were placed in the sky by Hera (Juno) to form the Cancer constellation, as she sent the giant crab to distract Hercules while in battle. Artemis, the ruler of Cancer, is also sometimes known as the Moon Goddess. The Goddess symbolizes the empathetic and nurturing nature of this sign, since she has the magical powers of healing and immortality. Cancer is compassionate and sensitive. They are domestically oriented and enjoy cozy comfortable safe sanctuary spaces and self-care. They are self-protective and highly sensitive to their environment.
